Autobiography of sonia gandhi and rajiv dixit

With Congress out of power at the Centre, a controversial book on Sonia Gandhi published seven years ago is finally out in India.

The Red Sari, a dramatised biography of the Congress president by Spanish writer Javier Moro, was under an unofficial ban all these years and has now been released by Roli Books.

First published in Spain in , The Red Sari was threatened with a lawsuit by Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi in if any publisher in India translated and sold the book.

The Congress was in power for 10 years from to May last year.

Singhvi, whose legal firm had issued a defamation notice to Moro in , had claimed that the biography is "full of untruths, half-truths, falsehoods, defamatory statements, completely imaginary and invented conversations with quotation marks and narrations of nonexistent situations in the first person."
