She was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Terry Jose Patrick, Jr. and Beverly Ann. Her mother's family hailed from Norway. Danica's parents met on a blind date at a snowmobile race, where her mother worked as a mechanic. Danica grew up surrounded by racing, as her father also had racing experience with snowmobiles, motorcycles, and microcars.
She showed a passion for racing at a young age, participating in kart racing during her school years. She even worked as a nanny during her free time. Danica left school early with a general education dip
